Learn about our organization and our commitment to audiology excellence
The Society of Audiology in Bangladesh (SAB) is the national professional body dedicated exclusively to the advancement of audiology practice, education, research, and advocacy in Bangladesh. Our journey began in 2015 with the establishment of the Bangladesh Speech and Hearing Association (BSHA)—a multidisciplinary platform created to support professionals working across speech, language, hearing, and balance sciences. Under the banner of BSHA, we successfully organized numerous professional development programs, awareness initiatives, and landmark events, including the 1st International Conference on Speech and Hearing Sciences (BSHACON 2020). This conference marked a historic milestone, bringing together national and international experts and significantly elevating the professional discourse in Bangladesh. Over the years, the audiology profession in Bangladesh has grown rapidly in scope, responsibility, and societal impact. In response to this evolution—and to better serve the specialized needs of the audiology community—we undertook a strategic transformation. In 2025, BSHA was formally renamed and restructured as the Society of Audiology in Bangladesh (SAB), reflecting our dedicated and focused commitment to the audiology sector. SAB now serves as a unified professional platform for audiologists across Bangladesh, working to:
As a forward-looking organization, SAB actively collaborates with academic institutions, healthcare providers, policymakers, and international professional bodies to strengthen audiology services and ensure equitable access to quality hearing healthcare across the country. Guided by professionalism, integrity, and scientific excellence, the Society of Audiology in Bangladesh is committed to shaping the future of audiology—empowering professionals, advancing knowledge, and improving the quality of life for people with hearing and balance disorders.
